ROOTZ is the area of Children’s ministry for Kids K-4th grade. This corporate worship time takes place every Sunday during the adult worship service. ROOTZ is a time designed for kids and centered on Christ, where kids hear and experience biblical truths, by music, story and game, and then learn how this relates to them today thru relevant age appropriate teaching based on a monthly core value to instill Godly Character.

High Point Baptist Church Kids (HPBC Kids) is about teaching God’s word to children.
We offer 9:30AM Sunday School classes to children from age 2 through grade six.
Our Mission: Our mission is to open children’s hearts and minds to God’s word, and to help children grow in their knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Our Vision: Our vision is to partner with parents in teaching God’s word to children to develop in them a foundation of Christ living.
We currently utilize Group Publishing’s Buzz curriculum in our Sunday School program. We teach one bible story or bible truth each week. After our direct bible teaching, we then discuss with students how to live out the bible truth that was learned that week. We also spend time each week discussing how God was at work in our lives during the week.
Currently we spend 13 weeks on each of the following 8 attributes of God:
- God is Loving
- God is Perfect
- God is Forgiving
- God is Faithful
- God is Real
- God is Giving
- God is Powerful
- God is Good
We currently have 5 different classrooms for students as divided by age groups. Each classroom works on the same attribute while utilizing a different theme to highlight the attribute.
Our class themes for Spring 2010 are:
- 2 and 3 yr old: Boo Boo Buster
- Pre K – K: Ballihoo
- Grades 1 – 2: Hide and Seek
- Grades 3 – 4: Gross Me Out
- Grades 5 – 6: Raiders of the Empty Tomb

"Graceland" Birth to age 2
"And whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me." Matthew 18:5
Having a staff that demonstrates Christ-like love, compassion and patience, we allow parents the opportunity to worship, knowing their child is in a safe, healthy and caring environment.
Our loving staff incorporates appropriate reading, playtime, video and song, demonstrating the heart of a servant to the children. To protect the health and well-being of our babies, we take steps to insure the cleanliness and safety of the nursery. We have a paging system that allows us to call you if needed. And every adult in our staff is required to have criminal background checks & child abuse clearances, adding another layer of safety for your child and assurance for you, the parent

As parents of three beautiful daughters we know and understand how difficult parenting can be. If you are like us you’ve read many great books, asked for sound advice from a trusted friend and perhaps even shed a few tears!
We count it a privilege to share our hearts about a Parenting Ministry at High Point Baptist Church called Vertical Parenting. We are very excited about the opportunity to lead this ministry. First and foremost, we are excited because we need it for ourselves to effectively accomplish the challenging but rewarding task that God has assigned to us.
Ephesians 6:4 says, “Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.” God’s Word makes it clear that it is the responsibility of parents to disciple their children. We feel so strongly about this charge that we have made it the mission of Vertical Parenting.
Our mission statement is “To Ignite a Passion in Parents to Take the Lead in the Spiritual Training of Their Children.”
It is our prayer that this ministry will provide instruction and encouragement for parents to do just that. Some other things that you will learn are as follows:
- How to Appeal To Your Childs Conscience
- How to Raise a Moral Child
- How to Discipline with Encouragement
- How to Discipline with Consequences
- How to Build a Healthy Family
- How to Successfully handle sibling conflict, temper tantrums, and the three sister sins: lying, cheating and stealing.
- How to Instill the virtue of personal self-control and personal responsibility.
While teaching your child
- Respect for Authority and Parents
- Principles of Obedience
On October 14th at 6:00pm we will be kicking off the first year of Vertical Parenting with a 17- week course called Growing Kid’s God’s Way by Gary and Anne Marie Ezzo. It will be held at High Point Baptist Church and each class should last around 2.5 hours. Each parent will be required to purchase a student workbook at $20 each. Childcare will be provided.
It is our aim that Vertical Parenting will not only be a place to learn but also a place to share your struggles, find support, make friends and join with other like minded parents in this awesome responsibility that God has given us in training our children.

Men's Fraternity Ministry |
|
Aptly called the Band of Brothers, our weekly Men's Group meets for fellowship, camaraderie, and exhortation as we study and strive to advance our spiritual growth as Men of God. Embracing the concept that we are united as brothers, loyal and committed to each other, from different backgrounds with our individual strengths and weaknesses, we endure together to seek the ultimate goal oflives focused on Jesus Christ.
The group joins Saturday mornings at 730am or Thursday mornings at 7am. Based on the Men's Fraternity series by Robert Lewis, the group approaches three different and equally important areas within the spiritual walk of men. Whether striving for the goal of authenticity, succeeding within all the areas of a man's life, or determining and establishing a solid destiny in manhood, the 3 series study provides plenty of challenges, reflection, laughter, and love.
The group is open to men of all ages, backgrounds, and interests. Please decide to experience this exciting and life-changing ministry. We hope to see you next week!

High Point Church has gone through exciting changes over the years and has developed an amazingly vibrant music program. On Sunday mornings we bring "new songs" into the church worship service; music that is relevant, current and performed by talented musicians who sing and play together harmoniously. Youth Group worship on Sunday nights is led by our youth band.

At Sunday service you will hear a joyful, upbeat repertoire filled with drums, electric guitars and passionate vocals. Whether an age old hymn or a current composition, the music is expressed in a contemporary style. The words for the songs are highlighted on two big screens so everyone can join in. |
